In a profession often marked by philosophical and practical divides, Dr. Stephen
Franson sees something different in OneChiropractic—a beacon of unity with
purpose. Recently, we spoke with Dr. Franson about why he supports OneChiropractic,
how the Chiropractic Defense Council (CDC) came under its umbrella, and what the
future holds for the profession under this growing movement.
When asked what initially drew him to OneChiropractic, Dr. Franson doesn’t hesitate: “I
love that OneChiropractic takes the approach of not necessarily uniting chiropractors,
but unifying chiropractic for a few particular causes that we can all buy into, regardless
of the differences in how we practice, philosophical or political differences.”
It’s that sense of purpose-driven action that sets OneChiropractic apart. As Dr. Franson
notes: “One Chiropractic stands, I think, unique in this space… everyone can get behind
things like the Chiropractic Defense Council, which defends the rights of the practicing
chiropractor, Health Missions, which brings chiropractic to the underserved and the
unserved, and now Operation Backbone, which everybody loves; our veterans.”
These initiatives go beyond politics, technique, or ideologies. As Dr. Franson says,
“These initiatives really unite the profession and bring out what we share in our mission
and our purpose more than the differences between us.”
Dr. Franson was instrumental in bringing the Chiropractic Defense Council (CDC) to
OneChiropractic. What sparked the idea? “So, we wanted to create that. And obviously,
because there are such differences around the world by region, by state, by province,
by country, that we had to have boots-on-the-ground teams that were teched up and
trained up and ready to be deployed all around the world.”
